What we keep about you

In plain words: what this site stores, why, who else sees it, and how to have it deleted.

Who runs this site

wealthcoop.money is run by IDETRA, which decides what happens to the information described here (in legal terms, the data controller). For anything about your data, write to [email protected].

Reading without an account

You can read every page and try every calculation without an account, and we do not ask who you are. Like every website, our server briefly keeps technical logs (the internet address of your connection, the page requested and the time) so that we can keep the site running and stop attacks. These logs are overwritten after a short time.

If you create an account

We keep your email address and your password. The password is stored as a one way hash (a scrambled form that nobody, including us, can turn back into the password).

If you save your numbers or your strategies, we keep them too: your country, the amounts you enter, your pools, your goals and the strategies you build. We use them only to show them back to you and to run your calculations.

We never sell this information, never use it for advertising and never send you offers. We keep it because you asked for an account, and we need it to provide one (in legal terms, to perform our agreement with you).

Cookies and browser storage

Cookies are small files your browser keeps for a website. Browser storage is a similar space that never leaves your device. This is everything we use:

sessionid
Keeps you signed in. It is set only when you sign in, and the site needs it.
csrftoken
Protects your forms and calculations against forged requests from other websites. The site needs it.
wealth-coop-lang
Remembers the language you picked, as a cookie and in browser storage.
wealth-coop-consent
Remembers your answer to the analytics question, in browser storage.
_ga, _ga_E10F858DF1
Google Analytics cookies, set only if you accept analytics.

Google Analytics

Only if you accept, we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages help people. Google then receives the pages you view, the kind of device and browser you use, and a rough location worked out from your connection. Advertising features are switched off, and we never send Google your email or your saved numbers.

We rely on your consent for this. You can change your answer at any time with the Cookie choices button at the bottom of every page. Google handles this information under its own privacy policy.

Who else handles your information

A few companies help us run the site. They handle information only on our instructions:

Cloudflare
delivers the pages to you and protects the site from attacks.
OVHcloud
rents us the server where the site and its database run, and keeps our nightly backups.
Google
provides the analytics, only if you accept.
mundus.live
a sister site, also run by IDETRA. The Mundus button in the top bar loads from it, so it sees the address of your connection, like any website you visit.

Some of them may handle information outside the United Kingdom. When they do, it is protected by the safeguards that UK law requires.

How long we keep it

Your account and everything saved in it stay until you delete the account. When you delete it, it is removed from the live database at once. Copies in our nightly backups, which are stored in the United Kingdom, are deleted within 31 days.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, to receive a copy of it, or to have it deleted. You can delete your account yourself at any time on the Your numbers page, with the Delete my account button. For anything else, write to [email protected] and we will answer within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this page

If we change what we collect or why, we will update this page and the date at the top.
